A month in Malia
A summer spent in Greece
In the heart of Crete lies a small town that comes alive in the summer – Malia. My friend and I decided we wanted to do something a little different this summer. We wanted longer than a week of fun and sunshine. This is when we decided to book a flight to Greece and live there for a month! Join me as I reminisce about my time working in Malia, an unforgettable journey.
From the moment we arrived, we knew this was going to be the summer of a lifetime! The streets buzzed with a lively energy, to meeting a stranger wo we were going to be sharing a room. We made connections with people very quickly and soon discovered we had made friends for life. After a few days of allowing ourselves to settle in, we decided to look for jobs on the stirp. With it full of workers from all over the world, we knew everywhere would be hiring. We decided to try a PR job for a bar on the strip. We enjoyed this work as we got to talk to many new people.
After a few nights working there we decided to try something new. We asked around different places and landed ourselves a job in what we didn't know would end up being our favourite place ever! From the warm welcome of the bar tenders we knew we were going to have the best time. My friend worked as the PR for the bar and I worked as a shot girl. The best part of the job was getting to talk to people from everywhere around the world (and or course the free drink), people on their first lads holidays to best friend duos returning for their 10th year. It was a summer spent of socialising and fun.
Waking up on the party island and spending everyday to sunset on the beach became the new normal!
Hoping on the bus to different parts of the island became our favourite activity.

As my time in Malia drew to a close, I couldn't help but reflect on the profound impact this experience had on me. What started as a job evolved into unforgettable experiences and lasting friendships I will cherish forever. Malia, with its sun-drenched days and vibrant nights, became more than a workplace – it became the summer of a life time and a story I will forever share.
Thanks for reading!😀
